Behavioral Health Innovators, Inc. (BHI) is seeking a Middle School (MS) Program Director (part-time 6.0 hours per day) (.75 FTE) offered during the school year (180 days). PASS is an intervention program for Barnstable County middle schools to provide a positive alternative to school suspension as well as social-emotional support for students not necessarily facing suspension. Participating students will be assessed by a licensed clinician and those struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, and/or trauma will be referred for appropriate support services.

The MS PASS program is a safe and supportive environment for conversations and questions that elicit honest discussions about students’ struggles, so that we can provide these students with services early on. They will learn about tools to manage these issues and will learn about restorative justice practices to address their behaviors. They will benefit from a therapeutic environment where they are also able to access their academics.

The MS PASS Program Director will be a college graduate (with a bachelor’s degree) who also has 2-3 years of experience in establishing youth programming in communities. He/She/They must have basic knowledge of mental health and addiction recovery processes, services, and support. The Program Director will be responsible for creating policies and procedures with participating school administrators and school student support teams to create workflows that enable students’ access to the MS PASS program, including referral processes, students’ daily receipt of schoolwork, parent/caregiver permissions, ensuring the day-to-day operation of the program flows smoothly for the participants, families, and schools.

The MS Program Director will be leading psycho-educational groups and should be comfortable presenting groups on CBT, communication and social skills, restorative justice strategies, mindfulness and emotional regulation.

The MS PASS Program Director will coordinate with the program’s Clinician and Student Support Director to create goals with the students, individual schedules at PASS and re-entry plans for the students. He/She/They will also assist in connecting students and families to resources in the community. This role requires knowledge of and experience with community resources and referral systems and/or the ability to work in collaboration with community-based providers and agencies.

The MS PASS Program Director is someone committed to supporting the social and emotional development of the students, is culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities of the students. Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.
