Susan Strong

Board Member

An extraordinary educator, Susan began her 30 year career in education as an English teacher at Pittsfield High School.

  • She holds a B.S. degree in Special Education and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership
  • She is currently an Educational Consultant for Futures Healthcore, providing mentoring and coaching for principals, teacher and directors at three charter schools
  • She also serves as consultant to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts training faculty and students around supports for students with disabilities
  • She was the Founding Principal for Rockdale Recovery High School, Massachusetts’ newest recovery high school serving students committed to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction
  • Susan also served as Director of Student Services for the Weston Public Schools, responsible for the Guidance Department, Special Education, English Learner Education and Nursing for all schools (pre-K-12)
  • As Principal of Lenox Memorial Middle and High school for three years, Susan supervised and evaluated all instructional staff and managed annual budgets for 475 students in grades 6-12 and 60 staff
  • She also served as Director of Student Services for Berkshire Hills Regional School District and Chair of the Special Education Department at Pittsfield High School
  • Susan is a member of: The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Harvard Principal’s Center Council for Exceptional Children, MSSAA (Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators Association), MIAA: Wellness and Opioid Task Force, District Attorney’s Opioid Task Force and MA Coalition for The Homeless
  • She is a Certified Yoga Instructor focusing on Trauma Sensitive Yoga
